JPK Instruments asutati 1999. aastal kolme tudengi poolt.  Ainult paar aastat hiljem tuli turule NanoWizard® – maailma esimene BioAFM. Praegu on JPK Instruments nanotehnoloogiatele suunatud seadmete tootja, kombineerides parimad tehnilised oskused visionäärsete rakendustega. Tootevalikus on aatomjõu mikroskoobid ja spektroskoobid, optilised pintsetid ning rakuadhesiooni uuringute seadmed.
